UK WEEE registration
According to the requirements of the EU Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment WEEE Directive (2002/96 / EC), EU member states are responsible for the management of waste electrical and electronic equipment in various countries. According to the requirements of the WEEE Directive, the UK has formulated a WEEE registration management system that is in line with the actual situation in the country. For manufacturers of electronic and electrical products, they must register the manufacturer. The registration of WEEE in the UK is carried out by the Environment Agency (Environment Agency)
In order to reduce the burden on small producers, the UK Department of Environment has classified producers into two categories. Any manufacturer whose annual sales volume of a single brand in the UK is less than five tons is regarded as a small-scale manufacturer, and only a simple registration is required. For manufacturers with annual sales of more than five tons, there is a strict registration and declaration system.
For small-scale producers, only a single registration and declaration is required each year to meet the relevant requirements. For non-small-scale companies, they must join the producer compliance scheme approved by the UK Ministry of Environment and become their members. At the same time, for manufacturers not in the UK, they must have an authorized representative (authorised representative) in the UK. The authorized representative may be a PCS approved by the UK Department of Environment. Different manufacturers' compliance organizations, the British Ministry of Environment has different authorizations for them, so manufacturers must provide information on product information.
If you are a B2B or B2C seller selling online, you must apply for the relevant identification code. (Note: B2B refers to commercial products, B2C refers to household products, usually called household). If you are a small-scale online sales manufacturer that sells commercial products, it is best to join PSC to avoid the risk of increased sales in the future.
For manufacturers, in addition to registration, they must also meet the following requirements:
1. Mark the fork bin logo on the product;
2. Provide product recycling and environmental protection information within one year after the product is launched;
3. Ensure that the dealer shares the registration code with you;
4. Keep records of sales in the last four years.
In addition to registering as a manufacturer, the UK also has requirements for dealer registration.
